I'd Love To Get To Know You Better!

Some of the hardest moments you’ve lived through this year might become the ones that grow you the most. It doesn’t feel like it when you’re in it. But God does some of His deepest work in the places we never would have chosen for ourselves.

“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2–3

This verse can feel harsh when we’re in the thick of things. But when we look back, we start to see what God was up to the whole time. The courage He was growing. The steadiness He was holding us with. The faith we didn’t know could run so deep.

If you’re walking through something that hurts or something you don’t understand, I’m praying God meets you with real comfort and tangible peace.

Hold on.

There is light ahead, even if you can’t see it yet. ❤️

If I’m honest, I used to believe something that held me back for years:

“If I’m not immediately good at it, I must be a failure.”

Writing cured me of that real fast.

Because this journey has taught me something I wish I had understood so much sooner, something that I heard @emilypfreeman share several years ago:

Everyone loves a new beginning.
But nobody loves feeling like a beginner.

And yet… that is where every good story starts.

Before someone becomes a NYT bestselling author…
they wrote draft after draft that no one ever saw.

Before someone has hundreds of thousands of followers…
they posted hundreds of videos that barely reached anyone.

Before a business makes its first million…
there were late nights, wrong turns, and more “start overs” than we can imagine.

Beginnings are uncomfortable.
Beginnings are humbling.
Beginnings are hard.

But they are also where God forms us.

So if you feel like a beginner today, congratulations!
You’re growing! 🥳

And you’re not alone.

I feel it too… almost every single day lately.
Learning.
Stretching.
Choosing to stay instead of quit.

But these small steps are opening doors I once prayed for.
And they will for you too.

Keep going. And see just how much God can do with new beginnings.

“Teach us to number our days so we gain a heart of wisdom.” Psalm 90:12

“Abide in me and you will bear much fruit.” John 15:5

When I invite God into my creative work, it protects me from getting caught up in the numbers. Instead it becomes an act of worship.

Chasing virality may look exciting, but it often leads to burnout and discouragement. Faithfulness brings steadiness. Small steps bring wisdom. Partnership with God brings joy.
